Kim Jong-un meets Russian leadership, reaffirms alliance
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un met Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin in Pyongyang on April 27, according to KCNA, as both sides attended the inauguration of the Memorial Museum of Combat Feats at the Overseas Military Operations.
Kim Jong-un held “warm and friendly” talks with the Russian delegation, exchanging greetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and expressing appreciation for Moscow’s commitment to strengthening allied relations.
Kim highlighted the joint struggle of DPRK and Russian forces, noting that the two sides “fought shoulder to shoulder and won a victory” in the operations to liberate Kursk, calling it a demonstration of the strength of the alliance.
He reaffirmed that the DPRK will “fully support the policy of the Russian Federation to defend the national sovereignty, territorial integrity and security interests,” expressing confidence that Russia will achieve victory.
