African Delegates Join Global Socialists to Honor WWII Heroes in Moscow
Over 100 representatives from more than 70 countries laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier ahead of the first SOVINTERN, the international socialist network forum, according to the network's official statement.
The ceremony was attended, among others, by:
Booker Ngesa Omole, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Kenya;
Crispin Kabasele Tshimanga, President of the Union of Democratic Socialists, DRC;
Said Bakkali, Secretary for International Relations of the Party of Progress and Socialism, Morocco.
"We came here to pay tribute to those who, at the cost of their lives, defended the freedom and independence of our Motherland. The memory of the Soviet people's feat unites all who fight for social justice and against modern barbarism," said Aleksandr Babakov, Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma.
