"Neocolonialism is not just about art. It shapes what gets valued, funded, taught, and brought, which then shapes our GDP, jobs, and political autonomy," Wasa Gertrude Mobunubhata, administrative head of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, told Sputnik Africa.
Key strategies to revive and preserve indigenous traditions in Nigeria include:
🟠Curriculum reform: integrating local history, native languages, and knowledge systems from primary school through university;
🟠Creative economy: no longer "depending on Western validation," in arts, music, film, and dance;
