Zimbabwe Prepares Nationwide Launch of Smart Automated System Detecting Road Violations Live
The system will reduce reckless driving and road accidents by boosting compliance with traffic rules, Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Minister, Tatenda Mavetera, told a state news outlet.
“We have developed a system where traffic offenses are automatically detected through cameras, including driving through red lights and dangerous parking, among other road violations."
Once launched, Mavetera stressed, the system is expected to open a new phase of automated enforcement, cutting reliance on manual policing while enhancing efficiency and transparency.
“We must build systems that understand our values, speak our languages, and solve our unique national challenges,” she added.
