Kenya Runway Overrun: 36 Safe After Plane Ends Up in Bushes

The Embraer jet, operated by Kenyan carrier EBB Air, left Nairobi with 32 passengers and 4 crew, Kenya Airports Authority clarified.

After landing at Mandera airstrip, the plane skidded, overshot the runway, and crashed into a thicket.

"Passengers and crew were safely evacuated, and appropriate ground was immediately provided. There were no injuries reported to the passengers or crew," as the authority stated.

ℹ Mandera airstrip, near the Somali and Ethiopian borders, primarily serves humanitarian flights to refugee camps and chartered trips for officials and business travelers.
