Zimbabwe Eyes Joint Satellite Launch With Russia: National Space Agency

The two countries plan to develop and launch a new satellite called ZIMSAT‑3.

According to Dr. Painos Gweme, Coordinator of the Zimbabwe National Geospatial and Space Agency, the country's Minister of Higher Education has directed the agency to engage with Russia's space corporation, Roscosmos, on the project.

Following recent talks, both sides agreed to set up two working groups. Their job will be to negotiate and finalize the satellite's mission and specifications, he told Sputnik Africa.
