Former Nigerian Officials Accused of Plotting Plead Not Guilty: Media
A court in the capital Abuja has adjourned the trial to April 27, media reported.
Attorney-General and Justice Minister Lateef Fagbemi reportedly requested a speedy trial due to the case’s seriousness, and judge Abdulmalik approved it after pleas were entered.
The case is the most serious treason prosecution since Tinubu took office in 2023, amid efforts to strengthen internal security during economic strain, increased Islamist militant attacks in the north, and political tensions, according to media report.
The video shows alleged coup plotters arriving to the court in Abuja.
