Angola Allocates $33 Mln to Support Businesses Hit by Natural Disasters
President João Lourenço chaired an extraordinary meeting of the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers to:
Assess external risks – Evaluate the impact of the Middle East conflict on Angola's economy and discuss mitigation measures.
Support disaster victims – Address aid for families, businesses, and economic units hit by natural disasters this year.
Review global price effects – Examine a memorandum on how high global oil prices are affecting public finances, investment, transport, tourism, fertilizer access, food prices, and other sectors.
Build strategic reserves – As a precaution amid Middle East instability, the government ordered the urgent creation of strategic reserves of fuel, food, medicine, and water treatment chemicals.
