Tanzania's Lion Population Reaches 17,000, Largest in the World, Official Says

Anti-poaching efforts have sharply reduced poaching and helped revive lion numbers, Tanzanian Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism Hassan Abbasi said at a meeting with his Ugandan counterpart Doreen Katusiime.

Moreover, to advance sustainable development between the two countries, both sides pledged closer cooperation in wildlife conservation, tourism, and natural resource management.
