AU Chairperson Congratulates Ibrahim Traoré for Unwavering Commitment to National Peace & Stability
Burundian President and current AU chair Évariste Ndayishimiye met with Burkina Faso's leader Ibrahim Traoré during a working visit to Ouagadougou, the Burkinabé presidency announced.
▪Following their discussions, Évariste Ndayishimiye stated that he had gained a better understanding of "the objective reality of the Sahel region and also of the Burkinabé people."
▪ He also said that he intended to prepare "a sound and objective report" for the AU, enabling them "to move forward together toward a common future."
The talks between Ndayishimiye and Traoré focused on "the means to be put in place to build and consolidate a bridge of cooperation" between the AU and its currently suspended AES member states, Burundi's presidency said.
