Kémi Séba 'Fell Into the Trap Set for Him,' Says Former Chadian Minister
The panafricanist activist was becoming a nuisance because of his analyses on French influence in Africa, Ahmat Mahamat Hassan, former Minister of Justice, told Sputnik Africa.
"For a long time, France and Benin had been waiting for an opportunity to silence him. He criticizes France’s African policy and the non-panafricanist policy of his country of origin. The question of his extradition is a legal formality to cover political interests for France and the West."
France is worried that certain African countries, such as those of the AES, are turning toward Russia and fighting for their genuine independence, he added.
