A joint project to develop two modular small hydropower plants with a combined capacity of 2.6 MW was discussed during meetings between a Russian delegation and the Congolese Ministry of Energy and Hydraulics, Russia's state nuclear agency Rosatom said in a statement. These plants are designed for harsh conditions, equipped with remote monitoring and anti-tamper protection, and are intended to provide stable electricity to remote areas, the company noted. The proposed project is well suited to Congo's conditions, as the plants can be rapidly deployed, are securely protected, and capable of operating autonomously, Rosatom stressed.
