ℹ Since March 30, the Mpanda District in Burundi has reported 35 cases of an unidentified illness, which has resulted in five deaths. Health officials noted that nearly all those affected were from the same household or were close contacts of initial cases.
Fortunately, no new cases have been reported since April 11, suggesting the outbreak may be subsiding.
Rospotrebnadzor noted that laboratory tests have already ruled out roughly 200 known pathogens, including:
▪Ebola;
▪Marburg;
▪Rift Valley fever;
▪Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever;
