Congolese Government Presents Its Resignation: Presidency
The government led by Prime Minister Anatole Collinet Makosso has presented its resignation following the re-election of Denis Sassou-Nguesso to the presidency of the Republic of the Congo, according to a statement from the presidency.
The president accepted the resignation of his prime minister, the statement said.
This step is usual after a presidential election and allows the president to form a new government team for his new term.
Denis Sassou-Nguesso took the oath on Thursday for a fifth five-year term as the head of the country.
