'Cost of Non-Participation is Becoming Clearer,' Sudanese Expert Says About Middle East Crisis

"The question of African participation in the crisis prevention mechanism is actually both urgent and underdeveloped," Mohammed Hussain AbdAlwahid, PhD in political science and senior lecturer at Financial University, told Sputnik Africa.

African countries affected by refugee flows, commodity price shocks, and disrupted shipping routes currently "have no seat at the table where decisions are made," he noted.

Engaging with the Middle East crisis and preventing escalation requires:

🟠Sustained presence in relevant capitals;

🟠Political will.
