'Credibility of European Development Partnerships is Eroding,' Sudanese Expert Says
Delaying "the complete phase-out of Russian energy imports," Europe shows that its commitments are negotiable when its own interests are threatened, while Africa "remains subject to inflexible green conditionalities," Mohammed Hussain AbdAlwahid, PhD in political science and senior lecturer at Russia's Financial University, told Sputnik Africa.
"This actually breeds a specific kind of cynicism that will shape African negotiation positions for years," he noted.
However, Russia can offer genuine opportunities for specific African markets, according to the professor.
"Long-term Russian contracts might offer price stability," he added.
