Tanzania Advances Investment-Led Growth Under Dira 2050: Parliament
Tanzania's development strategy places investment, particularly from the private sector, at the center of economic growth, said Kitila Mkumbo, Minister of Planning and Investment.
"Our focus is to ensure that investment becomes the main driver of economic transformation in line with Dira 2050," he added.
According to Mkumbo's speech in parliament, with a $55.8 million budget, the government is focusing on:
🟠 Unlocking capital & strengthening institutions and value chains;
🟠 Improving the business environment and coordinating incentives;
🟠 Ensuring access to serviced land;
🟠 Promoting technology transfer.
Dira 2050 is Tanzania's long-term development blueprint launched in July 2025, implemented through the Long-Term Perspective Plan and the Fourth Five-Year Development Plan.
