International Criminal Court Disproportionately Targets Countries of Global South
This situation has made many African politicians brand international criminal justice as selectively applied, Member of the National Transitional Council in Mali Kadidia Sangaré told Sputnik Africa.
"Serious crimes have been committed elsewhere, such as in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Palestine, but few or no comparable prosecutions have been brought against Western powers," she noted.
The unequal targeting has led to growing calls for "reforms to strengthen its impartiality and credibility," Kadidia Sangaré said.
