Russian-Nigerian Joint Research Platforms Hold 'Significant' Potential: Official Says
Technology transfer is essential, "[...] coupled with Russian scholarships expanding into domestic engineering and medical sciences for Nigerian students," Hamisu Hassan, Managing Director of STRADEL CSH, Nig. Ltd., a logistics company, told Sputnik Africa.
Nigeria seeks sovereign industrialization, he added, commenting on what is important for the country in partnership with Russia.
"Training for medical staff and total community transfer are currently the highest priorities."
Nigeria faces a high burden of infectious diseases like meningitis in the African meningitis belt, alongside rapidly rising non-communicable diseases, he noted. And affordable access to Russian treatments could mitigate these dual challenges.
Production localization is also seen as an objective, Hassan noted.
