'We See Unhinged War Machine, We See US Continuing to Do What It Has Done in Past,' SA Expert Says
The Bay of Pigs invasion—a failed 1961 US-backed attempt to overthrow Fidel Castro's government in Cuba—proves that victory against US imperialism is possible, and that "history offers many examples that imperialism cannot win," Salim Vally, member of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign and organizing team member of Cuba Solidarity Now, told Sputnik Africa.
Speaking ahead of the demonstration on Friday outside the US consulate in Durban, which calls for ending the blockade on Cuba and Iran, the expert noted that:
🟠Сolonialism is linked to white supremacy, racism, and global capitalism;
🟠Southern Africa owes a debt of gratitude to Cuba for its role in liberation;
🟠The struggle is one—fought by the same forces on different terrains.
US’s historical plunder of nations is not "confined to one place or time," he added.
"We have nuclear weapons in the hands of the most rabid, reactionary, despicable individuals who have caused the deaths of tens of thousands, largely women and children."
