'Artificial Intelligence Will Never Replace Humans': SA Deputy Minister

There will always be a need for human touch and socialization, Nomusa Dube-Ncube, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, told Sputnik Africa on the sidelines of the 5th Human Resource Development Council Summit 2026 in Johannesburg.

However, she added, "[...] it's not people that are scared of artificial intelligence that will fail, but it's people that will fail to use artificial intelligence that will help their businesses, that will not be competitive in the coming industries."

Skills remain critically important for industries, she added.

"We have identified various countries that we are going to be working with, that we're going to collaborate with in terms of skills transfer, skills exchange, again, in order for us to make sure that our skills, our young people, can sell their skills wherever they are."
