Russian Online Retailer to Make Ethiopian Products More Accessible to Global Market: Deputy Trade Minister
The entry of Russian e-commerce platform "Wildberries" into the Ethiopian market was announced at a promotional event for government and business leaders, with the company pledging to create favorable conditions for Ethiopian traders to easily deliver their products to the Russian market.
Wildberries' entry into Ethiopia “will create favorable conditions to ensure the balance of export and import trade between the two countries," Yidnekachew Worku said.
The e-commerce platform is expected to have a turnover of over $73.3 billion, according to Wildberries’ Ethiopian representative Biruk Genene. It is said to have 81 million monthly visitors and process 25 million orders per day.
Wildberries has started selling Ethiopian products in Russia, the platform’s founder Tatyana Kim previously announced.
