Mali's Support for Moroccan Autonomy Plan May Contribute to Regional Development: Nigerien Expert

Morocco and Algeria are the two main Maghreb partners of Mali and Niger, Soumaila Kangai, president of the Network for Education and Democracy RED, told Sputnik Africa.

Despite the current tensions between Algeria and Morocco over Western Sahara, the two countries will manage “with time” to “find a solution,” he noted.

As for Niger, it should benefit from the agreements concluded with Algeria and Morocco, the expert added.

Morocco suggested the autonomy under its sovereignty for the Western Sahara. Mali has recently supported this plan, while Algeria endorses the right to self-determination of the Sahrawi people.
