Somali Forces Eliminate Dozens of Al-Shabaab Militants in Jubaland, Says Ministry
Somali armed forces, supported by Jubaland state forces and international partners, conducted a major offensive in Lower and Middle Juba regions, killing 27 militants, including commanders, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Weapons, including anti-personnel mines, were also seized during the anti-terrorist operation, according to the ministry.
Al-Shabaab, an Al‑Qaeda*-linked militant group, has been fighting the Somali government and obstructing UN humanitarian activities.
