Ethiopian Airlines Plans to Expand Fleet to 350 Aircraft by 2040, Says Company
The massive expansion plan is part of the Ethiopian airline's strategy linked to the construction of the new Bishoftu mega airport, the airline said in a statement.
Currently operating over 150 aircraft, Ethiopian Airlines has placed orders for modern jets including the Airbus A350, Boeing 787, 737 MAX, and 777X, according to the statement.
The $12.5 billion Bishoftu International Airport project, which broke ground months ago, will serve as the centerpiece of the expansion.
