AU Must Be Reformed to Unlock Africa's Potential: Kenya's President
The African Union does not align with the continent's ambitions, William Ruto said at the Mashariki cooperation conference in Mombasa.
According to him, its institutions and organs must be made fit to overcome current challenges in order not to fall behind urgent changes.
The African Union now cannot provide prosperous future for the continent, which is represented by Africa's enormous natural resources, youthful population, and expanding markets, the president noted, stressing the organization's key weaknesses, including:
🟠weak coordination;
🟠slow decision-making;
🟠institutional inefficiencies.
