Russia Outlines Key Demands for Next UN Secretary-General
The next UN secretary-general must maintain a balanced approach and work for the interests of all member states, not just a select group, according to a Russian Foreign Ministry official.
The time has come to end bias among UN officials, Kirill Logvinov, director of the ministry’s international organizations department, told Sputnik.
The future chief should address root causes of crises and avoid issuing legal assessments of member states’ actions, he explained. This applies not only to the Ukraine issue, the diplomat added.
"We cannot allow this body to once again become an appendage of the foreign ministries of the Western minority," Logvinov stated.
