Visiting UN Envoys Praise Zimbabwe Reforms, Say UNSC Push Reflects Its Strong Position in Africa
The visit will allow the ambassadors to gain a deeper understanding of what Zimbabwe offers the international community, Trinidad and Tobago’s UN Ambassador Neil Parsan was quoted by a state news outlet as saying.
“And Zimbabwe’s presence on that Council speaks volumes to its representation on the continent of Africa," he noted.
Zimbabwe, whose foreign policy pillar is “a friend to all and enemy to none”, has proved a commendable champion of peace in an increasingly volatile world, the news outlet cited him as saying.
“We should be very proud. We all made a statement. Zimbabwe is a proud Zimbabwe. Proud people, mindful, thoughtful people."
The UN delegation’s visit comes as Harare steps up its campaign for a 2027–2028 UNSC seat, with elections due in June, it added.
"This visit provides a firsthand look at our progress, our stability, and our unwavering dedication to international peace, security, and sustainable development," Zimbabwe's President Emmerson Mnangagwa stressed.
