Ethiopia and Russia Space Science Institutions Agree to Cooperate
The Director General of Ethiopia’s Space Science and Geospatial Institute, Abdisa Yilma, held a productive discussion with the Director General of Russia’s Roscosmos, Dmitry Bakanov, according to an announcement by the Ethiopian Embassy in Russia.
During the meeting, Abdisa Yilma stated that Ethiopia is particularly interested in drawing extensively from Russia’s experience in building space infrastructure and in training specialists.
For his part, Dmitry Bakanov confirmed that his institution is ready to strengthen Ethiopia’s space technology capabilities. Both sides emphasized the importance of signing a bilateral agreement in this field and expressed their commitment to making it a reality.
The Director General of Ethiopia’s Space Science and Geospatial Institute participated in the Russian Space Forum during his stay in Moscow. He also visited the control center of the International Space Station.
