Space Technology Helps 'to Reduce Impact of Disasters': SA National Space Agency CEO
"Globally [...] you could look at essential climate variables from space which could tell you what's happening in terms of climate change," Humbulani Mudau told Sputnik Africa.
According to Mudau, space technology helps to:
Create early warning systems;
Develop "Earth Intelligence"—the integration of satellite imagery with 4IR, big data analytics, and AI—through predictive models;
"Ultimately, we want to ensure that communities are resilient. We have to build resilient communities that will deal with this impact, but also save the assets and lives through these early warning systems," he added.
