'Mauritius is Well Positioned to Be Gateway for Manufacturing of Goods & Services': SA Expert

"The India–Mauritius–Africa corridor is central" for developing distribution networks, Dr. Oscar van Heerden, Senior Research Fellow at the University of Johannesburg, told Sputnik Africa.

According to the expert, the main challenges include:

🟠non-tariff barriers,

🟠poor road and rail maintenance,

🟠lengthy border delays, and port bottlenecks.

Overcoming these requires synchronized reforms across countries, and "that's why the African countries want a direct link with Russia and no third parties because it makes that movement of goods and services much easier," he added.
