"Tunisia is independent. There are no longer any French people here, but there are remnants of colonization," he emphasized.
He explained that these commemorations provide an opportunity to mobilize citizens around the values of independence and justice.
"Cooperation is one thing, and interference is another," he recalled.
The historian finally called on Tunisian youth to draw inspiration from these great moments, not to reproduce the struggles of yesterday, but to uphold today's "great ideals of justice and the struggle for independence."
