Ethiopian Products Now Available on Biggest Russian Marketplace: Founder
"Wildberries announces the launch of sales of Ethiopian products in Russia. The marketplace will feature products such as coffee, textiles, leather goods and accessories, home decor, and natural cosmetics from Ethiopian producers," Tatyana Kim, the platform's founder, announced at the conference on Innovative E-Commerce and Media Technologies.
According to Kim, Ethiopia holds major e-commerce potential thanks to its fast-growing East African market, a young population nearly matching Russia's, and strong government support for digitalization.
Wildberries is ready to become a key tech partner for Africa's e-commerce growth, sharing its tools to benefit both buyers and sellers.
With this launch, Ethiopia becomes Wildberries' 11th market, following a partnership with Ethiopian Investment Holdings.
▫ In the next phase, the platform will open to Ethiopian shoppers, allowing Russian sellers to reach this promising new market.
