An 11-year-old patient was admitted to Kasr El Aini Hospital in Cairo in serious condition after being injured while playing with a nail gun—a nail pierced his chest and lodged directly in his myocardium, a local media outlet reported.

‍ A specialized medical team from the hospital's cardiothoracic surgery department saved the patient's life, successfully removing the nail and stopping the bleeding, according to the publication.

Two days later, the child was discharged from the hospital.
