"The majority of our population also believes that cooperation with Russia can only be mutually beneficial—both for us and for the AES," Niger’s Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Abdourahamane Amadou said at the first International Transport and Logistics Forum.


These ties bear no resemblance to past relations with the countries that colonized Africa, the minister stressed.


“Russia’s attitude toward Africa can in no way be described as passive. It has no colonial past, and we on the continent are glad to welcome Russia," he added.
