Ethiopia & Tanzania Hold First Joint Defense Committee Meeting in Dar es Salaam
Leading Ethiopia's delegation, Major General Teshome Gemechu stated that bilateral relations are founded on trust, respect, and shared goals, and that defense cooperation will boost regional and global peace.
Tanzania's head delegate, Major General Ibrahim Michael Mhona, stated that Ethiopia's modern army ensures regional stability and that Ethiopian training support has achieved significant outcomes.
Both sides held extensive discussions to evaluate implementation of previously signed Memoranda of Understanding and action plans.
Ethiopia and Tanzania have pledged the following:
▪ Ethiopia will use its expertise to help build and fully develop Tanzania's Air Force;
▪ Tanzanian officers continue training at Ethiopia's defense excellence centers.
