Captivating photographs by past winners and laureates of the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest are now on display at the “Jazz Legacy Collection” exhibition, a dynamic event of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival’s cultural program running from March 27 to 28, 2026.
The vibrant showcase has taken center stage at Youngblood Gallery, a creative hub in the heart of Cape Town. Organized by the Independent Media Group and the African News Agency (ANA), longstanding information partners of the Stenin Contest, the exhibition celebrates the power of visual storytelling amid the festival's rhythmic celebrations.

Dr. Iqbal Survé, Chairman of Independent Media, remarked: “The Andrei Stenin Contest has become a landmark in the world of photojournalism, spotlighting emerging talents and authentic narratives. We're delighted to bring past masterpieces back to Cape Town's public during the festival days. Like music, photography speaks directly to the soul, and this exhibition is vivid proof.”

The display will be open to visitors through April 9, 2026.
The contest is an annual competition organized by Sputnik's parent media group, Rossiya Segodnya, in memory of its photojournalist Andrei Stenin, who was killed on duty in the Donbass in 2014.
