'If You Cut Starlink to Armed Groups, They Have No Alternatives,' Expert Says
Internet connectivity has become a weapon, Starlink is not just a technology but a tool of US influence in the region, Jean-François Geneste, former chief scientist at EADS/Airbus Group, told Sputnik Africa.
“Starlink and Amazon are part of the American deep state; they serve US interests. I can’t imagine Starlink being shut down, even for terrorist groups in the Sahel, and Kuiper stepping in instead," he noted.
If such a decision is taken, it is taken at the level of the American deep state, the speaker said.
Russian or Chinese electronic warfare systems could help jam Starlink, but only in a localized way, he added.
