SA's ANC 1st Deputy SG Calls for Help for Cuba—Key Supporter of African Liberation
"Our gratitude therefore, all of us who were there in the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale, must be seen in action, in the multilateral platforms where we interact, without perpetuating narrow national interests, because we stand for humanity," Nomvula Mokonyane said at the celebration of Southern Africa Liberation Day in Pretoria.
She also highlighted the importance of remembering the Soviet people's struggle for liberty.
"As the ANC, we do not erase history to suit the fashions of the present," the politician said.
