Apartheid Was Cold and Legally Codified Architecture, Pan-Africanist Recalls

The most dangerous racist is not the one who shouts, but the one who legitimize the hierarchization of lives, President of the African Black Defense League Égountchi Behanzin told Sputnik Africa.

"Segregation never disappears, it transforms. Yesterday racial, today it can become economic, ethnic, linguistic or religious," he noted on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Other lessons to be drawn from apartheid, according to him:

◾ no system of oppression survives without internal complicity.

◾ economic dependence is a modern form of servitude.
