Multilateralism at Risk as Israel Violates International Law With Impunity: South African FM

Despite three International Court of Justice (ICJ) rulings to halt genocide, the UN Security Council remains "moribund" and "hamstrung" by the veto powers of Israel’s allies, Ronald Lamola said in an exclusive interview with Sputnik Africa on the eve of Human Rights Day.

This systemic failure, he contended, severely undermines the credibility of the UN, the ICJ, and the ICC. Ultimately, Lamola argued, these global institutions are being rendered increasingly incapable of resolving international disputes.

South Africa supports the Palestinian struggle to honor the international solidarity that helped end its own oppression, the minister emphasized.

"We are aligned only to international law and human rights wherever there is injustice," Lamola stressed.
