60,000 Tonnes of Cocoa Stranded in Côte d’Ivoire Amid Allocation Dispute

Of 100,000 tonnes, only 37,774 tonnes had been collected by Thursday, while another 13,000 tonnes are being processed at the ports, the Interprofessional Coffee and Cocoa Organization (OIA) reported.

The delays stem from discrepancies between forecasted and actual volumes, with anomalies in stock allocation. Suspicion has arisen that unregistered operators received part of the subsidized stock, the OIA noted.

Sources indicate that 15,000 tonnes went to Transcao and 30,000 tonnes to an unidentified operator, depriving registered producers of their rightful allocations. Measures are being proposed to restore these rights.
