Ethiopian Investment Holdings to Build Major Fuel Depot in Djibouti: Reports
Africa's largest sovereign wealth fund formally requested 10 hectares of land within the Djibouti Damerjog Industrial Park to construct a 150,000 cubic meter fuel storage depot, local media reported.
It reportedly marks a strategic push to expand the country's footprint in the regional energy corridor.
Key details of the project:
🟠The depot is planned near the park’s main fuel distribution hub and railway line, enabling efficient inland fuel access to Ethiopia;
🟠The initiative is part of a wider effort to transform the Djibouti–Ethiopia corridor into a world-class energy hub;
🟠The project is expected to strengthen national energy security, particularly amid ongoing tensions in the Gulf region.
