After Being Wiped Out by Poachers, Rhinos Return to Ugandan Park for the First Time in 40 YearsTwo southern white rhinos arrived at Valley National Park on Tuesday, the first of eight to be reintroduced after poachers killed the last one there in 1983, according to a press release from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA)."This moment marks the beginning of a new rhino story for Kidepo Valley National Park.
