ISWAP* launched a coordinated offensive against the Nigerian army's positions in Mallam Fatori, Borno State, but the assault was decisively repelled by the Nigerian troops, according to an official military statement.
The operation, conducted by forces under the Joint Task Force as part of Operation HADIN KAI, successfully neutralized insurgents, including several high-ranking commanders, the report confirmed.
Nigerian military officials described the outcome as a significant disruption to ISWAP's operational capabilities.
"This decisive victory represents a major operational setback for the terrorist network and further underscores the growing combat effectiveness, resilience and tactical superiority of Operation HADIN KAI forces across the theatre," the report concluded.
