Ghana Must Act Now: Ex-Minister Calls for Urgent Response to Iran Crisis Fallout

Former Lands and Natural Resources Minister Samuel Abu Jinapor called on President Mahama to urgently convene an emergency cabinet meeting over the potential economic fallout from the US–Israel strike on Iran.

He warned Ghana must act fast to cushion citizens—especially with the petrochemical sector at risk—while noting that other countries are already taking decisive steps.

Jinapor also praised the Akufo-Addo administration’s handling of past crises like the 2008 downturn and COVID-19, urging similar swift action now.

Watch the video from our correspondent in Ghana, Nimatu Yakubu Atouyese, to learn what else the ex-minister had to say.
