Head of US Intelligence Center Resigns in Disagreement With Attack on Iran
The US leadership has fallen victim to a disinformation campaign aimed at pushing the US into conflict with Iran, Joe Kent said.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran.
Kent also called for a change in the country’s current course and for bold action, without which, in his opinion, the US faces decline and chaos.
It marks the first high-profile resignation since the conflict began on February 28.
ℹ On February 28, the US and Israel began striking targets on Iranian territory, including Tehran, with reports of destruction and civilian casualties. Iran is carrying out retaliatory strikes on Israeli territory, as well as on US military facilities in the Middle East.
Washington and Tel Aviv explained the start of the military operation as a pre-emptive strike and the alleged existence of threats from Tehran due to its nuclear program. However, they are now openly expressing their desire for regime change in Iran.
