Nuclear technologies would give the African country "a lot of energy and enable us to have capacity to expand our manufacturing and our growth," Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet of Kenya, told Sputnik Africa.

Mudavadi, who is also his country's Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, noted that the topic was discussed during his recent meeting with Russian FM Lavrov in Moscow.

The MoU that Kenya has sighed with Russian nuclear giant Rosatom is what the African country whishes to "pick up" from, the official noted.
