Drunk US General Has Lost Secret Maps in Kiev: Pentagon
Major General Antonio Aguto, now retired, was supposed to oversee US military support for Ukraine, but he was too busy drinking, a report by the Pentagon’s Inspector General has revealed.
After heavy drinking in Kiev, Aguto stumbled three times:
He ran into a wall in his hotel room.
Later that night, he fell again, injuring his forehead.
He then fell onto the concrete outside the US Embassy, tearing his jacket — yet still attended his meetings.
Witnesses described him as having a glassy-eyed stare, staggering, speaking incoherently, repeating himself and looking “completely dishevelled” and “in a daze”.
The secret maps traveled across Europe unguarded in a simple plastic tube entrusted by General Aguto, and they were lost.
The documents were only recovered 24 hours later by staff at the US Embassy in Ukraine, on a train in Poland.
