Zimbabwe Mandates ZiG Payments for Local Suppliers: Ministry of Finance
All local companies supplying goods and services to the state will now be paid exclusively in the country's currency, the ZiG, the ministry said.
Key points of the transition:
🟠National Standard Price List (NSPL) is introduced for commonly procured goods and services.
🟠Priority is given to domestically produced goods and services in government procurement.
🟠Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) system is implemented to strengthen financial oversight.
🟠International suppliers will continue to receive payments in foreign currency.
🟠Higher denomination ZiG banknotes will be introduced starting April 7, 2026.
